In a rugged frontier hemmed by thousand foot tides, impassable peaks, and vast swathes of unforgiving wilderness, women disappear with disturbing regularity–“lost daughters” remembered in naught but song and whispered warnings.

Ardra just wants to be left alone to haul rocks, dig gems, and rebuild the rubble of her fractured past.

Those plans for solitude are disrupted when she is forced to intervene to stop two children from being kidnapped. This act entangles her in the thick of a hidden war, where a deadly alliance of rogues and dark powers exploiting the vulnerable contend against a mysterious order of ancient woodsman with dread reputation–rangers.

To join this fight means forsaking her hope to ever know the peace of a quiet life. To turn away means abandoning others to an evil fate she only narrowly escaped…
